Blue Mouse
A number of years ago as I was walking the trails behind the schools, I found a little stuffed toy on the ground. It was a floppy blue mouse. I envisioned a young child walking with a parent, perhaps in a backpack, had dropped it. I sat it upon a tree stump in hopes that the owner would find it on another visit to the woods. The blue mouse sat upon the stump for many years! I was surprised it didn't get knocked off the stump over all that time. Well, maybe it did, but then someone must have put him back again. Then on a somewhat recent walk, I noticed he was no longer there. But nearby, at a trail leading away from that stump, there was a new trail sign. I bet you can guess what the trail was named. Yep. Blue Mouse.

The Back Story
I love how blue mouse has touched others. Our baby daughter had her 'blue mouse' toy robbed from her by our puppy. On one walk on the trails, our puppy brought this new toy with her. Part way along the walk, we realized she had dropped it.
My kids and I cleared out the path for a cut through tail that followed the 'Skid Road' path up to 'Huckleberry Loop'.
On a future visit when we were fixing up trails and signs, we saw the mouse had been found and placed on a log. With screws in hand, we attached blue mouse to a stump at the entrance to this cut through tail. Eventually, after he disappeared, we thought that the trail needed a name. We could only think of one name that would fit, so we made signs... Blue Mouse.
